Waabi is hiring a Senior Data Analyst in Toronto!
Waabi, the Toronto-headquartered Physical AI company behind autonomous trucks and robotaxis, is hiring a Senior Data Analyst for its Operations organization. This is a hands-on analytics role focused on the data foundations that let the company understand and run its fleet — the metrics, dashboards, models and pipelines covering performance, utilization, uptime, readiness and commercial reporting. The posting is explicit that the job goes beyond producing reports: the analyst is expected to dig into the data on their own initiative, propose new measures worth tracking, and shape how operations are run through evidence-based insight. The analyst works closely with Operations, Commercial and Data Platform teams, turning scattered manual tracking into reliable automated reporting, and quantifying the operational cost of delays, downtime and other inefficiencies across the mission lifecycle.
Key responsibilities
- Define, implement and continuously refine core operational metrics for fleet performance, efficiency, utilization, uptime and readiness
- Build and maintain data pipelines, analytical datasets, data models and automated workflows that consolidate operational data from multiple sources, validating completeness and integrity alongside Data Platform
- Create and standardize dashboards and recurring reports so operations reporting is accurate, consistent and aligned with business needs
- Analyze productivity, delays, downtime and other inefficiencies to surface trends, root causes and improvement opportunities
- Proactively propose new metrics, dashboards and analyses based on what the data reveals rather than only reacting to requests
- Quantify the business impact of operational issues in lost hours, miles, missions and other critical outputs
- Build structured tracking across pre-mission, in-mission and post-mission performance
- Support internal and external commercial and demo reporting, including completion rates, cancellations and execution quality
- Flag data gaps, quality issues and inconsistencies across systems and recommend scalable fixes
- Partner with Ops, Commercial and Data Platform stakeholders to clarify requirements and deliver actionable insight
- Replace manual tracking and fragmented reporting with scalable datasets and automated workflows
Key requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Data, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 3–5 years in a dedicated data analyst, analytics or business intelligence role
- Strong SQL and relational data experience, plus Python or R for analysis (pandas preferred)
- Familiarity with dbt and modern analytics modeling workflows
- Experience cleaning, validating, reconciling and analyzing data from multiple sources
- Experience building dashboards and recurring reports in BI tools, with willingness to adopt new analytics and AI-assisted tools
- Statistical literacy with demonstrated use of significance testing, regression and distribution analysis to identify performance drivers
- Strong problem solving and business judgment; able to turn ambiguous questions into structured analysis independently
- Clear communication, able to translate data into takeaways for operational and leadership audiences
- Bonus: experience with operations, logistics, fleet or transportation datasets and customer-facing or commercial reporting
