This is a hybrid position within the Software Defined Vehicle (SDV) organization and does not require you to be onsite full time to perform most effectively. You are empowered to work remotely or on location as frequently as desired. The position may require occasional onsite work and travel based on business needs.

As a leader in the SDV Data Analytics organization you will have the opportunity to work with a rich and rapidly growing dataset. The team you build and lead will deliver key insights used to understand all aspects of our system and how it performs in the field. You will apply your experience in big data, analytics, algorithmic and/or machine learning approaches to help your team extract meaningful insights that will drive our engineering decisions.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and lead a highly engaged team focused on the development of data analytics and insights for GM’s next generation vehicle software platform (Ultifi)
  • Engage with key stakeholders across value streams to define and harvest powerful data insights at scale
  • Contribute to the design of the communications architecture to ensure analytic capability are achieved
  • Work closely with the DataOps team to ensure data quality, availability, and veracity in order to deliver both real-time and deep analytics
  • Build an analytics roadmap that demonstrates continued business value and growth in technical capability

Additional Job Description

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent experience in data science, engineering, mathematics, statistics/applied statistics, computer science or related quantitative field
  • 3+ years of direct people leadership experience (Coaching, Talent Acquisition, Performance Management, etc.)
  • 3+ years managing Data Analytics, Data Science and Data Engineering teams
  • 8+ years of industry experience in data science, data engineering or data insights
  • Experience building a highly engaged and productive Data Science and/or Data Engineering team
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure tool chain and infrastructure
